X-treme Engineering

X-treme engineering, a contest that redefines the word engineering, it sees teams pitting against each other to build things from scratch (or scrap). The aim of the competition is to build a model out of the scrap (like match sticks, ice-cream sticks, cardboard…., etc) provided. The basic idea is to make something out of nothing. This is the competition where you can show all your creativity and design skills.

You race against time. You have the raw material and the laws of physics to build a model that you visualize. X-treme engineering demands you to put all your grey cells into action to bridge the gap between what you conceive and what you end up constructing just because “anything the mind can conceive and the heart can believe, you can achieve”.

Format >>

The contest will involve a problem statement specifying the maximum and minimum dimensions of the model, you are required to make a model within in those dimensions. Model basically involves construction of a building using scrap provided to you. Your model will be tested for two conditions:

» The maximum weight it can support on top of it.
» The maximum impact it can handle.

The way the model will be tested will be explained to you on the spot. The model which supports the maximum weight and can sustain the impact will be declared as the winner.

Rules of the game >>

01. Max. Participation per group is 4.
02. Total time allotted is 2 hours.
03. The theme, specifications, and the dimensions of the model will be provided to the contestants on the spot.

05. Only the material provided can be used for making the model.
06. Material will be provided only once during the event.
